40-25-50!

September 1st marks the beginning of a month of Independence Day Celebrations in Belize.  While Belize is celebrating her 40th year of independence, Sea Sports is celebrating 25 years of being in business!  Over the past 25 years there have been highs and lows, but the most challenging year has been the past one, surviving the impacts of Covid on the tourism industry. 

However, being in business for 25 years, and being a dealer for major scuba equipment manufracturers, has its advantages!  This past July, Sea Sports Belize hosted Aqualung, who visited Belize to shoot their 2022 advertising campaign, making it the very first scuba equipment manufacturer ever to visit Belize to film their product catalgue.  When they launch their product line, be sure to look out for some amazing footage shot entirely in Belize!  If you have a  group of divers interested in duplicating these dives, be sure to reach out to schedule your amazing trip! 

One of Aqualung's Ocean Ambassadors who visited Belize is Phillipe Cousteau, grandson of Jacques Yves Couteau, who visited Belize in 1971, making our Great Blue Hole and Belize Barrier Reef world reknown.  Phillip's trip coincided with the 50th anniversary of his grandfather's trip to Belize, where he and the Aqualung team of Ocean Amassadors were greeted by members of the Belize National Historical Society, the Belize Tourism Board, and the Belize Film Commission.  Having been a member of the Cousteau Society, hosting Aqualung and Cousteau, has made our 25th anniversary truly a year to celebrate!  We hope you enjoy the photos presented here, a snippet of the wonderful 10 days exploring Belize!
