The Lounge- Dive was planned as a multilevel and anchor dive after a 1 hr and 16 min surface interval to max depth of 60 ft. 20 min at 60 ft and 20 min at 40 ft with a 3 min safety stop. Dive started at 1:40 PM with a visibility of 80+ ft and a water temperature of 76o F. Total dive lasted 41 min. On the dive we observed couple lobsters, lionfish, mutton snapper, and conchs.

The best of the day was while we were doing our preparation for the first dive and doing our briefing a beautiful male green turtle came by the boat and passed by very close. Over all everybody had a wonderful day and enjoyed both dives.

Diver's Alert Network - or DAN - as divers know, is the dive safety organization that offers membership, insurance and training course for divers.  Sea Sports has been a DAN business member for many years and offers DAN training courses.  The dive insurance program offered by DAN is the best investment a diver can make.   Protect yourself by signing up today, so if you have a dive accident DAN will cover the treatment costs. For more information on DAN visit: http://www.seasportsbelize.com/dan.html.

We'd like to try something new this year, with your support of course!  Many children in Belize will not have any presents to open on Christmas Day and we'd like to try and raise 100 gifts for kids aged 4-17.  The gifts can be new or very gently used clothing, or educational or fun toys.  If you are able to contribute to this Christmas fundraiser please consider bringing something for a girl or boy that would be suitable for a variety of ages.  If the program is a success we'll post pictures of the donated items and what age groups we are short of. Ho ho ho.. Merry Christmas is in the air!

Sea Sports Belize trains Rowan Garel for his 2013 Adventure - Diving in the Great Blue Hole!

Nothing holds Rowan Garel back, not his age (he's only 14!) nor the fact that he cannot see!  Each year Rowan embarks on a new adventure to show the world that blind people can accomplish anything people with sight can, and uses these challenges to fundraise for the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired.

Rowan and his sister Aesha Garel along with spokesperson for the BCVI, Carla Musa, signed up for PADI eLearning and complete their knowledge development sessions online.  Rowan has a special computer that enables him to study the Open Water Course material on his own time.  The 3 soon to be new divers completed the first three knowledge reviews before heading to the pool this past week.

Ready to started YOUR scuba class?  Sign up for PADI eLearning. Class Starts Today!
Rowan is doing great!  He's got a special gauge that he can feel so he knows how much air he has in his tank.  He knows how to set up his own equipment.  He can clear his mask, recover his regulator, and share air just like all others divers learn how to do.

Stay tuned for more adventures with Rowan Garel diving the Belize Barrier Reef and the Great Blue Hole!
