info
We are a family run operation and the owners are John and Linda Searle. John is from Belize and has worked in the tourism industry and field of archaeology. His wife Linda is a native of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate NY and is a marine biologist active in the conservation of sea turtles and coral reefs. Our staff are trained professionals that will show you the real Belize!
Sea Sports Belize first opened it doors in 1996. We are the first PADI 5 Star Dive Center in Belize and run a tight ship who's first concern is safety, followed closely
by fun!
We are a Belize Tourism Board licensed Tour Operator and our guides are licensed by the Belize Tourism Board. Our Divemasters and Scuba Instructors are accreddited by the Professional Association of Divers (PADI) who are the leader in diver education.
In 2005 Sea Sports Belize was voted Best Tour Operator of the Year! Our staff are from Belize and we know the country well and are eager to share the beauty of Belize with you!
Our tours are as diverse as Belize and her people. We know the reefs and the rainforests. On this site you will will find details on our marine tours. If you are interested in another tour not described here, please Contact Us!
Many people choose to see Belize with us since we have been in business for 15 years and provide a more personalized experience since we work with small groups and private charters.
To learn more about our daily activties as we dive and snorkel and share our knowledge of the reef, please visit our Blog and our Facebook page!
You can also search for us on Cruise Critic and Scuba Board. Several of our guests have offered to give first hand accounts to anyone who asks!
Remember, "We do it with LOVE!"
John Searle
PADI Course Director & Anthropologist
John was born in Belize City and has a vast experience of anything Belize, both marine and terrestrail. When Jacques Yves Cousteau visited Belize in the 1970s, John visited the Calypso and even appeared in the National Geographic issue on Belize as a young boy. Look for the kid with bloond hair and that's young John! Each summer he would vacation on historic St. George's Caye as a child where his father opened the very first dive business based in Belize in the 1970s. From very early on John has had a deep love of the ocean. When he went away to university in Florida he studied Anthropology and worked on digs there, in Belize, and most recently on historic St. George's Caye where he is now the Village Chairman, or Governor , as we like to say.
Linda Searle
PADI Scuba Instructor & Marine Biologist
Originally from Upstate NY, Linda has slowly made her way south to be closer to the magnificent Belize Barrier Reef. After studying at the University of Miami and NOVA Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center, she is applying her knowledge on conserving the largest Barrier Reef in the Western Hemisphere. At Sea Sports Belize she oversees many activities, and her time is shared with running ECOMAR, a local NGOs that coordinates several conservation initiatives. www.ecomarbelize.org
