"We really enjoyed our dives with you in Belize. Thanks, Jose, for guiding us and getting us
back to our boat on time. Can you identify the fish that followed us throughout our dives? It
was 18-24" long, blue, pec fins looked upside down. Head was flattened and looked like gills
were on top of its head. They were very curious and swam closely with us. Please let me know!"

Thank you Penny for taking the time to comment on your trip with us! We
are so happy to hear you enjoyed your day with us in Belize. Do you all
know what fish Penny is referring to? This is one of the things I like best
about my job, identifying fish from your descriptions! This is a great
question because it also gives me the opportunity to tell you a little bit
about this fish she sighted.
The fish that was following them around was a remora, aka shark sucker.
These guys come in 2 sizes. The small ones irritate parrot fish and trunk
fish. When the larger ones have lost their host, which would be a turtle,
ray or shark, then they begin to irritate divers! Their nature is to cling onto
another animal and will try to do so with you if you are diving. Please note
that they do not suck out any bodily fluids, but one time they did give one
of our divers a hickey! If you do see one of these it would also mean that
there was some larger marine animal in the water near you so do a keep
a lookout! Of course please tell your DM if the thing begins to irritate you
so he can take it off your hands. While they are cute, they can get
annoying after a while. We usually blow bubbles at it from our octopus
and then it keeps its distance.

We loved the knowledge Eli had and that he answered every question we had on the island and
reefs.
Your shop was very comfortable and the staff was very nice.
The winds kept changing and the captain & guide moved locations of where we would snorkel
accordingly so we would snorkel/drift and then the boat would pick us up so we didn't have to
swim against current since it was a windy day."

It is a very small world. My wife and I dived with you last week. Your crew was sensational. My wife
and I were walking our dogs this afternoon on the beach in St. Augustine with her wearing a
Belikin t-shirt. And who should we meet? Your husband & his brother Tom riding bikes! We are
going to try and dive with whale sharks with you guys in May or June.
